We only take 60 campers per day. Senior Counselors are certified in CPR and First Aid.  Campers never leave campus. "Field Trips" come to us and are included in your weekly fees. Playhouse on the Square's Summer Youth Theatre Conservatory is open to any student interested in theatre regardless of experience. All of the courses are taught by professional artists. Self-esteem is of primary importance to our program. Theatre is the perfect environment for a child to find their voice. A one week program with daily instructional core classes designed to develop children's creativity through Acting, Music and Movement exercises in a controlled, focused setting. The program focuses on creative acting skills and reinforces the discipline of body, voice and imagination. Students will engage in activities including movement, improvisation, monologue and ensemble work. An introduction on the proper way to audition is an element of the classes. Additionally, the students create pieces which are presented in a performance on the last day of the session.

Senior Conservatory (12-17 years of age)

A three week program with daily instructional core classes in Acting, Music, and Dance. Acting instruction includes a focus on both monologue and ensemble work. Music will give instruction in diction, breathing, sight-reading, and solo and group singing techniques. Dance instruction will introduce students to ballet, tap, jazz, and modern styles. Classes will provide the basic tools needed to feel confident in performing in public. One or more theatre specialty classes will also be taught. The session culminates in performance on the last day.

This Asperger Summer Program is unique intensive outpatient program (in a camp-like setting) designed specifically for elementary, middle, and high school students with Asperger Disorder.. The program was designed by parents, care-givers and clinical professionals.• The goal is to develop and maintain continuity in students’ developmental and behavioral skills throughout the summer.• The program will be led by licensed and trained therapists, certified special education teachers and certified activities therapists in a safe, supportive environment. one in the past two years. The camp is made possible by a grant from the
Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation and Junior League of Memphis and is
offered without charge. Activities include support groups, art,
storytelling, recreation, music and a Memorial Service. Camp dates are July

Camp Good Times is a one week residential summer camp for developmentally disabled children and adults.  Camp dates: June 23 through June 29. To qualify for Camp Good Times, campers must be at least 6 years of age, ambulatory, toilet trained, and able to complete basic self help skills with minimal assistance. Cabin assignments are based on sex and age and usually contain 4 – 6 campers with 2 – 3 counselors. Daily activities include Arts & Crafts, Outdoor Fun, Health & Fitness, Water Fun, Swimming, and a camp wide Night Time Activity.

For many years Camp Hopewell has provided Christian hospitality and programs for people of all ages.  The center operates year round and provides exciting summer camp programs for children and youth in June and July.  Special programs include two sessions for children and youth with diabetes.  One week for families who have a child with cancer is supported by the generosity of many people and is offered without charge.   The camp is on 267 forested acres with two lakes totaling about 50 acres.  All the residence cabins are air conditioned for greater comfort and safety.  Attendance is limited to 80 campers.  About 30 staff plus volunteers are on hand to help campers have an experience to remember.

The Exceptional Foundation of West Tennessee (EFWT) enriches the lives of developmentally challenged by meeting their social and recreational needs. Join the E-team as EFWT hosts its third annual summer camp this year from June 6th through July 29th, 2011.  Camp activities include field trips, exercise, swimming, arts and crafts, sports, sign language, music, social skills, and more!
